Terms of Service
Welcome to v4d ("v4d", "we", "us", or "our"). v4d provides tools that allow users to retrieve and process publicly accessible online media through URLs supplied by the user. By accessing or using v4d, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Service.
1. Description of the Service
v4d is a technical utility that helps users retrieve media from supported online sources based on URLs submitted by the user. v4d does not claim ownership of, or any intellectual property rights in, media retrieved through the Service, and does not host, publish, endorse, or control third-party content retrieved through the Service.
The availability of a particular website or media source does not imply that v4d has any relationship with, authorization from, or endorsement by that website or its operators.
2. User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for the URLs and content you submit to v4d and for your use of any content retrieved through the Service. By using v4d, you represent and warrant that:
- you have the necessary rights, licences, permissions, or other lawful basis to access, download, reproduce, store, or otherwise use the content you retrieve;
- your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws and regulations;
- your use of the retrieved content complies with the applicable terms and policies of the platform from which the content originates; and
- your use of the Service will not infringe or violate the rights of any third party.
You must not use v4d to facilitate copyright infringement, unauthorised redistribution, piracy, impersonation, fraud, harassment, or any other unlawful activity.
3. Third-Party Platforms
v4d is an independent service and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or officially connected with X, Twitter, YouTube, or any other third-party platform.
Third-party platforms may impose their own terms, restrictions, technical measures, or usage policies regarding downloading, copying, storing, or otherwise using their content. You are responsible for reviewing and complying with the applicable policies of the relevant third-party platform.
Note that "permitted by copyright" is not the same as "permitted by the platform". Even where downloading a piece of content is lawful, the terms of service of the source platform may still prohibit it.
4. Copyright and Intellectual Property
All rights in third-party content remain with the respective copyright owners or other rights holders. v4d does not grant you any licence or ownership interest in third-party content.
You should only download or use content when you have the necessary authorisation or when the use is otherwise permitted by applicable law.
If you believe that content accessible through v4d infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please contact us through the copyright contact information provided on our Copyright Policy page.
5. Prohibited Uses
You may not use v4d to:
- knowingly download or redistribute copyrighted material without authorisation;
- operate or facilitate piracy or infringement services;
- circumvent access controls, paywalls, authentication systems, DRM, or other technical protection measures;
- download or process content for unlawful purposes;
- abuse, overload, disrupt, or interfere with the Service;
- use automated systems in a manner that causes excessive load or otherwise harms the Service;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure; or
- violate applicable laws or the rights of others.
v4d reserves the right to restrict or terminate access where we reasonably believe the Service is being abused or used unlawfully.
6. Content Availability
v4d does not guarantee that any particular URL, website, platform, video, audio stream, or other media will be supported or remain available. Third-party websites may change their technology, access policies, authentication requirements, or technical interfaces without notice. Accordingly, downloads may fail or become unavailable at any time.
7. Service Availability
v4d is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or available at all times. We may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, v4d disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, accuracy, and non-infringement.
v4d does not guarantee that content retrieved through the Service is lawful for your intended use.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, v4d and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or relating to:
- your use or inability to use the Service;
- your use of downloaded or retrieved content;
- copyright or other intellectual property disputes;
- actions taken by third-party platforms;
- interruptions or failures of third-party services; or
- any unauthorised or unlawful use of the Service by users.
Your use of the Service is at your own risk.
10. Copyright Complaints
If you believe that content made accessible through v4d infringes your copyright, please contact us with sufficient information to identify:
- the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed;
- the relevant URL or content;
- your contact information;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is unauthorised; and
- a statement confirming that the information you provide is accurate and that you are authorised to act on behalf of the rights holder, where applicable.
See our Copyright Policy for additional information.
11. Privacy
Your use of v4d is also subject to our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When material changes are made, we may update the "Last Updated" date displayed at the top of this page. Your continued use of v4d after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
